Police Log Roundup: 'Fluffy Dog,' Loud Rappers, & Another Dumpster Fire

Here are a few memorable items from some police logs on the North Shore.

NORTH SHORE, MA – Police officers around the North Shore responded to calls regarding raccoons, possible burglars breaking iPods, and "fluffy dogs" on the loose this past week.

SALEM

  • Salem Fire extinguished a dumpster fire at the bottom of trash chute on Pope Street on Monday around noon.

  • Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a Rantoul Street apartment on Friday before midnight. The resident was alone, and said he was rapping.
  • A passenger smoking weed in a car tried to hide the marijuana in a purse during a traffic stop on Monday around 1 p.m. on Blaine Avenue. Officers disposed of the marijuana and gave a verbal warning.
  • An officer noticed chalk writing on several crosswalks and sidewalks along Cabot Street on Tuesday around 2:30 a.m.

MARBLEHEAD

  • Police helped a woman dispose of a bottle of mixed pills she found at the beach on Ocean Avenue on Sunday around 8 a.m.
  • An occupant in a silver SUV threw an egg at a person and almost struck her on Ocean Avenue on Monday around 2 p.m. Police spoke to the occupants.

PEABODY

  • Police took a report of a broken iPod after someone reported that it was broken during a possible break in on Thursday around 4 p.m.
  • A homeowner reported a man sitting in her bushes on Winnegance Avenue on Friday around 11:30 a.m. When the man spotted the caller, he reportedly jumped the fence and went into the wetlands behind the home. Officers did not locate the man.
  • Animal Control responded to a report of a raccoon growling at the resident from a chimney on Madison Avenue on Friday around 8 p.m. Police didn't find the animal.
  • Police took a report of a loose "fluffy dog" in the area of Lake Street on Sunday around 11 a.m.
