Red Sox Hall Of Famers To Appear At Peabody's Northshore Mall

Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley and Jim Rice will be signing autographs at Dynasty Sports & Framing this weekend.

PEABODY, MA — Two of Major League Baseball's greatest players of the 1970s and 1980s will be making their way to the North Shore this weekend.

Jim Rice and Dennis Eckersley, both members of the Baseball Hall of Fame, will be at the Northshore Mall to meet fans, sign autographs and take pictures at Dynasty Sports from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Eckersley played for the Red Sox from 1978 to 1984 before coming back to Boston to finish his playing career in 1998. He then become a television analyst for the team for 20 years until he retired from the booth in 2022.

He won a career-high 20 games in 1978 and 17 games in 1979 before going on to become one of MLB's all-time dominant relief pitchers with the World Series Champion Oakland A's. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 20004.

Rice played his entire 16-year career with the Red Sox with 382 career home runs and 1,451 career RBI. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. The Red Sox retired his No. 14 during a pregame ceremony on July 28, 2009.

Rice remains involved with the team as a longtime studio analyst for Red Sox broadcasts on NESN.
