Red Sox To Honor Peabody West Little League At Fenway Park
The state champion All-Star team will take part in a pregame ceremony on Sept. 7.

PEABODY, MA — The Peabody West Little League All-Stars traveled to the state championships in Gloucester, the New England Regional Championships in Bristol, Connecticut, and came within one victory of heading to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania this summer.
Next stop: Fenway Park.
The Boston Red Sox have invited the 12-year-old All-Star team and its coaches to take part in a pregame ceremony to commemorate the state on Sept. 7 when the Sox host the Tampa Bay Rays.

The league said it has a certain number of seats available that will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Peabody West beat Pittsfield for the state championship early this month to earn a spot in New Englands. There the team opened double-elimination play with a victory against Saco, Maine before a loss to Manchester, Connecticut and a loss to eventual regional champion Manchester North-Hooksett, New Hampshire.

Because international teams could not participate this year, two teams from each region went to Williampsort. This Peabody West team was attempting to become the first Massachusetts team to make it to the Little League World Series since a Peabody West team made it in 2009.
