PEABODY, MA — North Shore residents came together and tore the tabs off their aluminum cans for the third year in a row to help benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities.

State Rep. Thomas Walsh (D-Peabody) last week delivered the tabs to the McDonald House home in Charlestown. The tabs are then recycled for scrap with the money going to support families of those being treated in Boston and regional hospitals.

"I am thrilled to celebrate our third year of partnership in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities-NE and to highlight the critical role this organization fulfills in providing a home and a sense of normalcy for families during a very stressful time," Rep. Walsh said. "I am so grateful for participants who took time to collect the tabs from cans following summertime cookouts and gatherings. Please know that your effort in taking this extra step has a profound and meaningful impact for families in their time of need."
