SNAP Benefit Freeze: Peabody Citizens Inn Haven From Hunger To Offer Free Meals, Expanded Food Pantry

There is a call for donations with demand expected to increase as federal SNAP benefits are halted on Saturday.

PEABODY, MA — Peabody's Citizens Inn and Haven From Hunger is anticipating increased demand for food during the looming suspension of federal SNAP benefits with donations sought to help meet those needs.

Those wishing to donate are asked to consider monetary donations, which have the most impact.

"Citizens Inn is able to purchase food at Greater Boston Food Bank at wholesale prices, so your monetary donation will go much further than if you donate food directly," the Peabody Health Department said. "If you prefer to donate goods, please consider items that they cannot obtain at wholesale pricing - things like diapers and wipes, hygiene products, and pet foods.
