June 10

 An officer working a detail in Peabody Square early Friday morning witnessed a near collision between a train chuffing through the intersection and some cars.

The officer reported at 1:58 a.m. that the train went through the square without using crossing lights and while the traffic light was green. He said that as a result, two motor vehicles almost hit the train.

The railroad company was notified and said it would send someone out to look at the crossing. Generally a flagman in a neon vest comes down from the train to make sure the tracks are clear to proceed. There are no crossing signals or lights, otherwise, notifying motorists and pedestrians.

4:16 a.m. A caller reported people attending a party on Bowditch Street were urinating out in the street. Police said the homeowner was advised to turn the music down and all partygoers were cleared out.

June 11

Two Peabody males, 18 and 17, were issued summonses for being minors in possession of alcohol after police responded to a Herbert Avenue residence around 1 a.m. on Sunday.

 received a call from a neighbor who said she could hear a female voice yelling for help down the street. When officers arrived, they saw cars leaving the area with their headlights off from what appeared to be a party at a home.

The younger teen who will be charged does live on the street. According to the police, at least three other teens were also at the party and were stopped by officers at the scene.

9:04 a.m. A Warren Street resident reported parts of her car were stolen.

9:45 a.m. Another Warren Street resident reported the catalytic converter was stolen off her car.

Tuesday, June 12

At 6 p.m., a resident of Hampshire Road reported a problem with his landscaper. The landscaper reportedly raised his prices without letting him know and then threatened him.

Wednesday, June 13

At 12:42 p.m., a resident of Westview Circle reported a deer in the yard. The resident requested police tranquilize the deer, according to police. Police told the man to leave the gate open so the deer could leave on its own. The man told police he didn't want to do that because the deer was in a residential area. Police advised the man to call Mass Wild Life and Environmental Police for further instruction.

Police responded to the Charles Motel at 4 Mill Street at 11:12 p.m. for a man screaming. The man told police he was upset about eggs being thrown at his door.

Thursday, June 14

At 10:18 a.m., a tractor trailer struck a light pole and knocked it down on Lakeland Park Drive.
