The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from June 26-27.
Wednesday, June 26
- 2:31 p.m. threats were reported on Nancy Avenue. An officer stopped by the residence and ended up taking two firearms.
- 6:01 p.m. a sink hole was reported at 12 Reo Road.
- 6:49 p.m. H and M reported a shoplifter in custody.
- 8:06 p.m. a caller reported that his motorized bike was stolen and he just saw someone driving it down his street. An officer caught up with the individual in question, who said he bought the bike and has a bill of sale for the bike. The officer was set to follow up with another that took the initial report.
- 9:23 p.m. a caller reported that a motor vehicle struck a female pedestrian on Endicott Street and then fled the scene. The female was transported to Salem Hospital with injuries. No description of the offending vehicle was available, however.
- 11:10 p.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries on Route 128 Southbound. Two motor vehicles were involved. State Police handled the accident.
Thursday, June 27
- 12:20 a.m. a walk-in visitor to the police station reported a stolen motor vehicle on Allens Lane. The visitor reported that she lent her motor vehicle to an individual who was supposed to have returned it but did not.
- 4:47 a.m. a caller reported a motor vehicle that hit a light pole on Centennial Drive and then fled. The suspect vehicle was described as a small white Chevrolet sedan with a New York registration.
- 11:09 a.m. a caller reported that fire alarms were going off at Suburban Publishing on First Avenue and that there was smoke on the third floor. The building was evacuated but it was later discovered that the alarm was faulty and there was no signs of fire in the building.
