Beware of Black Ice and Slippery Roads

The National Weather Service warned drivers in the area to beware of black ice and slippery roads.

Black ice on untreated roads and sidewalks is likely and drivers should be especially aware of slippery roads on bridges and overpasses, NWS reports.

The conditions were caused from the recent snowfall melting and then refreezing due to the below freezing temperatures in the past 24 to 36 hours, NWS reports.

Residents will catch a break from the freezing temperatures this weekend. Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high of 41 degrees, The Weather Channel reports.
