Massachusetts State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Plymouth County May 4-5.

Massachusetts State Police on Monday announced they will conduct a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in Plymouth County this week. The roadblock will be held the night of Friday, May 4, and stretch into the early morning hours Saturday.
Per usual state police policy, the exact location or time frame of the checkpoint were not divulged.
"The purpose is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness to the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways," State Police Colonel Kerry Gilpin said in a statement. "It will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety."
