MA Heroin Dealer Convicted Of Manslaughter In OD Death
Steven Foss, of Whitman, was sentenced to 6-8 years in prison after the death of Paige Lopes of Wareham.

BROCKTON, MA — A Whitman man was sentenced to 6-8 years in prison Friday after selling a fatal dose of heroin to a Wareham woman in 2015. Steven Foss, 36, was convicted of manslaughter and drug distribution in Brockton Superior Court. He sold $80 worth of heroin through an intermediary to 25-year-old Paige Lopes, who ingested the drugs and died.
"I am hopeful that cases like this one have a strong deterrent factor for those pedaling poison in our cities and towns," Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement.
Foss was the first person in Plymouth County to be charged and convicted of supplying drugs in a fatal overdose case. He was also sentenced to 3 years probation.
