HS Coach 'Sick' About Team's 82-0 Victory
Old Rochester High School in Mattapoisett recorded the win over Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School Saturday in Lawrence.

LAWRENCE, MA — A Massachusetts high school baseball team's 82-0 win over the weekend left the winning coach "sick" to his stomach. Mattapoisett's Old Rochester High School recorded the victory over Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School Saturday in Lawrence, according to the Boston Herald.
“I'm sick to my stomach over this,” Old Rochester coach Steve Carvalho told the Herald's Dan Ventura. “We really tried everything possible. We told the kids don't take extra bases, no sprinting — we even had kids bunting and they couldn't make the routine plays. We had kids hitting balls 300 feet and jogging to first."
It was the most lopsided score for a baseball game in state history, according to the Herald.

This was the second time this year a Massachusetts high school made news for a lopsided victory. In February, the East Bridgewater girls basketball team defeated Madison Park 93-7 in a playoff game. East Bridgewater's superintendent apologized, according to The Enterprise.
