3 Injured In Crash Involving School Bus In Reading

Two children and another driver were injured when a car collided with a bus leaving a local camp Friday afternoon.

READING, MA — A crash involving a bus full of campers from a local camp injured three people, including two children, in Reading Friday afternoon.

The bus was leaving Camp Rice Moody with 18 children on board at the time of the crash. Police said the bus and another car collided near the area of Charles and Wakefield streets around 4 p.m.

Two campers and the driver of the car sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, police said. The children were treated at the scene and released to their parents, and the driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police established a reunification center at Killam Elementary School for parents to pick up their children Friday evening.

The crash remains under investigation.
