Representative Jones’ Perfect Voting Record Continues

House Minority Leader Bradley H. Jones, Jr. (R-North Reading) is pleased to report to the residents of the 20^th Middlesex District the continuation of his perfect voting record. 

The North Reading legislator participated in all 374 roll call votes in the House this year before the end of formal sessions for the 2011-2012 legislative session, a 100 percent voting record. The Representative cast votes on a number of issues including: job creation legislation derived from the comprehensive GOP Jobs Package, harsher penalties for repeat offenders included in Melissa’s Bill, and increased oversight for the taxpayer funded Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) program. Additionally, Representative Jones registered votes on legislation relative to enhancing the Commonwealth’s ability to provide a greater match for community preservation monies raised by cities and towns.

Furthermore, Representative Jones sponsored, and voted in favor of, an initiative to gradually roll back the state sales tax to 5 percent over the course of 3 years from the current 6.25 percent, with zero impact on the upcoming fiscal year.

“I hope everyone in the 20^th Middlesex District knows how appreciative I am to those who send me to Beacon Hill to represent the towns of North Reading, Reading, Lynnfield and Middleton,” said Representative Jones.  “I hope my voting record reflects just how thankful I am for the opportunity to serve and how seriously I take my ongoing commitment to representing the people in the district.”

Representative Jones’ streak of not missing a roll call, which dates back to March of 1994 when he was first sworn in, continues and currently stands at 5,490.

Formal sessions will resume in January 2013.
