
The Reading Fall Street Faire Coordinating Committee is pleased to report that planning is continuing for a successful event on Sunday September 9, 2012. To be held from Noon to 5 PM in the middle of Reading the event will feature a number of favorite events from the past three years as well as new partners, vendors, entertainment and sponsors. Leslie Leahy, owner of the Hitching Post on Haven Street; local residents Sheila Mulroy and Alison Ullman join Selectmen Steve Goldy and Ben Tafoya in rounding out the coordinating committee that is assisted by many other town residents, service organizations and businesses.
Among the favorite events coming back this year will be Calareso’s Farm Stand sponsored pumpkin painting booth. A crowd favorite, the booth allows children of all ages to create a decorated pumpkin that will brighten the fall. “ We love participating in the Faire,” says Joe Musgrave the Manager of Calareso’s, “We look forward each year to the opportunity to do this for the community and give something to the residents who support our business”. Calareso’s donates over 800 pumpkins to the event.
Other confirmed participants include Kings Complete Auto Center as a sponsor of the Antique Car Show and long time sponsors Douglass Funeral Home, Eastern Bank and Salem Five Bank. New participants include Home Depot who will be running a hands-on construction workshop for children and Zynga, a frozen yoghurt store coming to downtown Reading are adding to the high level of support from the community, which includes over 100 local artisans, restaurants, organizations and businesses who have committed to participating with many more expected to register before the upcoming August deadline.

The Reading Fall Street Faire will be held rain or shine Sunday, September 9 from Noon until 5 pm in and around Reading’s Town Common down Main Street and Haven Street, and will feature live music, family-friendly activities, sidewalk sales, restaurant/food vendors, antique cars, street performers, train rides, moon-bouncers, and dog show.
