Attempted Carjacking Suspect Possibly Involved in Larger Crime Spree

Local police also believe a New Hampshire woman may be traveling with Michael Munroe.

Reading, MA - What began with a shelter in place warning issued for Reading's Wood End Elementary School on Thursday afternoon might be part of a larger crime spree stretching from Reading and Tewksbury into New Hampshire.

Michael Munroe of Raymond, NH is being sought by Reading Police for an attempted carjacking in the Home Goods parking lot on Thursday afternoon.

As Reading police continued the search into Friday morning, Tewksbury Police released information that Munroe was a suspect in a carjacking at the Dress Barn in that town on Wednesday.

By Friday, it appeared that Munroe had crossed state lines, and was now the prime suspect in a bank robbery in Seabrook, NH.

Tewksbury police now believe that Munroe may not be traveling alone.

On Friday afternoon Tewksbury Police said they believe Munroe may be in the company of Rebecca Norton, 29, of 82a Prescott Road in Raymond, NH. Norton has two outstanding warrants for her arrest (Methuen PD Possession of Class A (default) and a Parole Violation out of Raymond NH).

If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of Munroe, they should call Tewksbury, Reading, or Seabrook, NH Police or dial 911.
