Bunratty Tavern Offshoot Sets Grand Opening In Reading

The Charles, a 40s-50s-style restaurant from the same owner, will launch a new menu and feature live music this Thursday.

READING, MA — A new restaurant from the owner of Bunratty Tavern will hold its grand opening ceremony this Thursday. The Charles, located in the former D'Amici's Bakery space next door to Bunratty's, opened in late December but postponed its grand opening until all COVID restrictions were lifted.

The restaurant, designed in the vein of "classic American/Hollywood from the 40s-50s," will debut a new menu at Thursday's event. It will also host live music starting at 5 p.m., featuring Reading's own Cait & Pat, followed by The Voice Selkii.

D'Amici's abruptly closed its bakeries in Reading, Melrose and Lynn in 2019. Initially, Bunratty's was going to use the space as a function room and additional space for its dining and cocktail section, but became its own concept.
