Cal's Creamery Ushers In Summer In Reading

The first half of a combination ice cream shop-pizzeria held its grand opening on Memorial Day.

READING, MA — Cal's Creamery, the ice cream half of a combination pizzeria-ice cream shop, held its grand opening ceremony on Main Street Monday.

The creamery features homemade ice cream, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes, as well as a couple dairy-free offerings. It held a soft opening May 18 after owner Jared Palladino received approval from the Community Planning and Development Commission for outdoor seating.

Palladino's plan calls for both businesses, Cal's Creamery and Cal's Brick Oven Pizza, to share a hallway in the same building at 122 Main Street and 82 Hopkins Street. They each have indoor seating for about 20-22 people and outdoor picnic tables.
