READING, MA — Motorists in Reading may face delays in the areas around Melbourne Avenue and Sunnyside Avenue beginning on Thursday as crews begin road work in the area.

Crews were scheduled to start pulverizing and grading existing pavement, weather permitting, at 7 a.m. on Thursday as of Wednesday night. Work is expected to last at least two days, affecting Melbourne Avenue and a portion of Sunnyside Avenue between its intersections with Fairview Avenue and Melbourne Avenue.

Delays, detours, and road closures should be expected, the town said in a recent announcement.
