Downtown Reading Introduces Paid Parking Options
The town is adding paid parking options at two downtown lots.

READING, MA — Paid parking options are coming to Downtown Reading. The Upper Municipal Lot behind CVS and the Brande Court Lot (aka the Old Atlantic lot) will allow visitors to park for longer than two hours.
Each lot has two kiosks and utilizes a pay-by-plate systems. There's no need to put a receipt in the car's windshield.
The first hour is free. One to four hours of parking is $1 per hour. After four hours is $5 per hour.

Payment is accepted via credit card, Pay to Park app, and coins.
Parking is regulated from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On-street parking remains free.
Reading Town Manager Fidel Maltez told The Reading Post that the addition of paid parking is intended to create "more frequent parking turnover for our visitors.” The move is intended to help downtown businesses continue to thrive.
