The spray contains the pesticide sumithrin to control mosquitoes, according to the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project. The spray does not pose a significant risk to people or pets due to the low toxicity, but residents should still minimize exposure. Go indoors while the trucks are spraying and close windows that face the street, the East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project said.
