Enjoy Spring Outdoors in Reading

Here are some walking and hiking trails in the area to enjoy as the weather warms up.

Reading has a lot of outdoor activities to offer including hiking, bird watching, biking, fishing and camping. According to the Community Services Office, Reading owns over 900 acres of protected conservation lands that the public can take advantage of.

For hiking or nature walks try the Town Forest, Bare Meadow, Pinevale, A.J. Schneider Woods, Lob’s Pound Mill, Kurchian Woods, Xavier Woods, Higgins Woods, and Sledge Woods.

If you want to go bird watching, try the Town Forest, Bare Meadow (the observation platform is awesome!), and the Linnaea Thelin Bird Sanctuary.

If you would like to have a picnic, visit the Town Forest, Bare Meadow, and the Lob’s Pound Mill. You can also go canoeing at Lob’s Pound Mill.
