READING, MA - A house fire on Perkins Avenue in Reading drew an emergency response Friday, according to an announcement from the Reading Fire Local 1640 union.
Firefighters shared word of the fire around 4:20 p.m.

Perkins Avenue splits of Woburn Street in Reading between Woburn Street's intersections with Summer Avenue and West Street.
Reading Police separately took to social media Friday, saying Perkins Avenue was closed entirely as of around 4:20 p.m.

Crews had also closed Woburn Street between Summer Avenue and West Street, according to police.
Roadways reopened later in the evening, with police sharing an update around 6:15 p.m. saying crews had cleared the scene.
