Firefighters Battle Garage Blaze In Reading

The fire was reported overnight at a local home.

READING, MA — Firefighters extinguished a garage fire early Friday morning, according to a post from Reading Firefighters Local 1640.

Companies were dispatched just before 3 a.m. on a report of a fire on Fairchild Drive.

They arrived at the home to find a working fire in an attached two-car garage with smoke entering the home.

Firefighters made "an aggressive interior attack kept the fire from extending into the main home," according to the post.

A Tesla electric vehicle was damaged in the fire but does not appear to be the cause of the fire.

The Massachusetts State Police Fire Investigation Unit is investigating.
