How Much Snow Has Fallen In Reading (So Far)

It's already the snowiest January in four years, despite much of the state not seeing its first inch until Friday.

READING, MA — Winter made us wait for the first heavy snowfall of the season, and it delivered Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, 5 inches have fallen in Reading as of 8 a.m. But that total will likely go up, as the storm is just hitting its stride in many places.

Boston had already received more than 7 inches of snow by 7 a.m., its most in a single storm since Dec. 2020, according to a WBZ meteorologist.

Meanwhile, several communities, including Medfield and Bellingham, have surpassed 10 inches. Places like Waltham and Natick, west of Boston, have seen 8 inches.
