Interim Principal for Coolidge Middle School Chosen
Sarah Marchant will be the new interim principal.

Superintendent John Doherty announced that he suspended the Coolidge Middle School principal search and appointed Sarah Marchant, according to a press release from Reading Public Schools. Marchant will be the interim principal starting July 1.
Marchant is a seventh and eigth grade teacher and team leader at Coolidge Middle. She started working at the school in 2005 and has assisted with many school and district initiatives since, according to the release. Marchant worked with other teachers to implement Common Core State Standards and related developing assessments.
She has a bachelors degree from Williams College and a masters from Boston University. She has taught at Northfield Mount Hermon High School, Buckingham Browne and Nichols and Wayland Middle School.

"Sarah’s strong middle school background, effective communication skills and familiarity with the Coolidge Middle School culture will provide a seamless transition for the 2013-14 school year," the release said.
She is currently pursuing her administrative license, and plans to work with current Coolidge Principal Craig Martin to complete her licensure requirements for the next school year, the release said.
