Longtime Reading Business Owner Joseph Graham Passes Away

Graham, owner of Affordable Lock on Pearl Street, died Saturday at 55.

READING, MA — Longtime Reading business owner Joseph Paul Graham passed away Saturday at the age of 55. Graham owned and operated Affordable Lock Company on Peal Street for nearly 30 years.

"For Joe, his business was a personal connection with his customers," Graham's obituary states. "He answered their calls, did the service calls, and stood behind his work."

Graham was born in Malden and lived in Melrose until the age of 10. His family moved to Reading, where he remained until his marriage in 2003. He maintained his connection to Reading through his business, where he was known for being there for his clients no matter the time of day, according to his obituary.

His "outgoing and kind" demeanor extended to his personal life as well, where he was an "adoring and doting father, supportive brother and fun uncle."

A visitation for Graham will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Thursday, Oct. 8 from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Church of St. Veronica Parish on Friday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with an interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
