Male Cited for Possession of Class D Substance in Reading

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Monday through Wednesday. The information is open to the public.

Monday, July 2

  • At 8:50 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 10:30 p.m., a caller reported hearing fireworks in the area of Haven Street. Police searched the area, but did not find anything.

Tuesday, July 3

  • At 7:09 p.m., a caller reported a suspicous vehicle on Walkers Brook Drive. Police investigated and a male in the vehicle was given a citation for possession of under one ounce of a class D substance.
  • At 8:54 p.m., a caller reported youths fighting on Washington Street. Police spoke to the youths who said they were fooling around not fighting.
  • At 9:40 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Salem Street. The people setting off the fireworks were gone when officers arrived.
  • At 10:40 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Pleasant Street. The people setting off the fireworks were gone when officers arrived.

Wednesday, July 4 

  • At 9:05 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Canterbury Drive and that fireworks had struck a house. There was no smoke or fire. The people setting off the fireworks were gone when officers arrived.
  • At 9:17 p.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Summer Avenue. The people setting off the fireworks were gone when officers arrived.
  • At 10:01, a caller reported fireworks in the area of Edgemont Avenue. The people setting off the fireworks were gone when officers arrived.
  • At 10:22 p.m., a caller reported that the picture window in their home was smashed.
  • At 10:43 p.m., a caller reported a house party on Dean Road. The homeowners were advised of the complaint and moved the party inside.
