Man Approached Young Teens In Reading, Police Say
The man approached a group of younger teenagers near the library and made inappropriate comments toward them, police said.
READING, MA — Police are investigating a report of a man approaching a group of teenagers and making inappropriate comments toward them.
The encounter was reported around 1 p.m. Friday on Middlesex Avenue near the library.
The man is described as white, approximately in his 60s with facial scruff, wearing a red tee shirt, blue jeans, glasses and a gray bike helmet. He was riding a red and black Mongoose bicycle, police said.

Residents of the area are asked to check their home video cameras and contact police if the man sounds familiar to them.
"All children are safe, as they knew to leave the area together once the male approached them," Reading police said in a statement. "It is a good time to remind all kids about strangers and that they should tell their trusted adults as soon as something like this happens."
