Marathon Fundraisers This Weekend

Attend one of these fundraisers to donate to the victim's of the marathon bombings.

In the wake of the tragic marathon bombings, local businesses have put together charity events and fundraisers to raise money for the victim’s. If you would like to contribute, here are some ways to help out this weekend: 

Take your dog for a wash!

Bring your dog to The Dirty Doodle Sunday, April 28 for a bath and all of the proceeds will go directly to the Stoneham Marathon Victims Fund.

The Dirty Doodle, a dog boutique and self-wash facility, opened late last year and offers tubs, towels, hydraulic tables for blow-drying and a wide variety of shampoos and conditioners for your furry friend's bath.

Grumpy Doyle’s is holding a fundraiser Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. for the victim’s of the marathon bombings. According to an employee of Grumpy's, if you order from a special menu the proceeds will go to the One Fund. 

Take a class at the Reading Athletic Club

Jodi Fitzgerald Simpson at the Reading Athletic Club is asking members for donations in classes to raise money for the Stoneham victims. Get fit and make a donation for those who were injured at the marathon. The club is also selling Boston Strong car magnets for $10 and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the One Fund.

Finish the marathon for those who couldn't

The Reading Athletic Club, Aine's Boutique and Grumpy Doyles are having a 2.5 mile road race Sunday. The recommended donation is $20 and all of the proceeds will go to the One Fund. Registration starts at 3:45 p.m. The race will start around 4 p.m. at the Reading Athletic Club.
