Money Stolen From Donation Can for Relay for Life in North Reading

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the from Friday through Sunday. The information is open to the public.
Friday, May 4
- At 7:07 a.m., an employee from the DPW reported that two catch basins were stolen from the Kingston Road area.
- At 10:55 a.m., a 23-year-old North Reading resident was summonsed for the unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for a police officer, a marked lanes violation and speeding.
- At 12:03 p.m., a male walked into the police station to report that his car was missing. After being advised of perjury issues on the stolen car form, he refused to sign the form and left the station.
- At 3:10 p.m., an employee from reported that $65 was missing from a donation can for the Relay for Life.
- At 3:28 p.m., a Peabody Court resident reported that her tire was slashed the night before.
- At 11:22 p.m., a Lowell Road resident reported noise coming from the apartment above her. She said it was an ongoing problem. No one answered the door for police when they went to the apartment.

- At 11:55 a.m., a caller reported six drain covers missing on Riverpark Drive.
- At 6:16 p.m., a caller reported a woman smoking marijuana on the porch of an apartment on Main Street. Police were unable to locate the woman.
- At 6:46 p.m., a caller reported an erratic driver on Lowell Road. Police located the driver who admitted to some of the erratic driving and was given a warning.
- At 10:09 p.m., a caller reported loud music and possible drug activity in a car on Nutter Road. Police found a small amount of marijuana in the car and gave citations to the three involved parties.
- At 10:46 p.m., a caller reported that a male was walking up and down Nutter Road yelling "Who called the police," referring to the previous incident at 10:09 p.m. Police spoke to the male and let him know about the repercussions if they had to return.
- At 11:57 p.m., a caller reported a road rage incident on Main Street.
Sunday, May 6
- At 3:04 p.m., an employee from reported that a 32-inch television was stolen. Detectives are investigating.
- At 9:09 p.m., a caller reported an erratic operator on Haverhill Street.
- At 9:37 p.m., a Chestnut Street resident reported his son missing. His son was last seen on Friday, May 4.
