Nomination Papers Now Available For Reading Town Election
A number of seats on town boards and committees will be on the ballot next spring.
READING, MA — Want to run for town elected office?
Reading this week rolled out nomination papers for next year’s annual town election, the town announced on Wednesday. Papers, as a result, are now available for pickup at the Reading Town Clerk’s office.
Candidates interested in securing a spot on the ballot will need to pull and eventually return papers with sufficient signatures.

The Town Clerk’s office is located in Reading Town Hall at 16 Lowell St.
Positions on the ballot this year include two seats on the Select Board currently held by Karen Gately Herrick and Carlo Bacci, whose current terms expire in April.

The Town Moderator's seat will also be on the ballot in addition to seats on the School Committee, the Board of Library Trustees and the Municipal Light Board.
The 2023 town election is set for April 4.
Incumbent Town Moderator Alan Foulds had pulled papers in his reelection campaign as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Town Clerk Laura Gemme.
No other candidates had yet pulled papers for the Town Moderator position or any other positions, Gemme told Patch.
