North Reading Woman Summonsed for False Crime Report

The following is a look at some of the calls handled by the  from Monday through Tuesday. The information is open to the public.

Monday, June 18

• At 1:42 a.m., a caller reported youths running from the playground area on Jame Millen Road. Police were unable to locate the youths, but did find personal property including a cell phone and alcohol. Using the cell phone police were able to speak with the parent of one of the youths. The father picked up the kids and brought them to the police department. Each youth was picked up by their parents.
• At 8:16 a.m., a caller reported fireworks in the area of Lowell Road. Police found that it was a transformer that blew and notified .
• At 4:25 p.m., a caller reported a violation of a harassment order. As a result of that call, a 59-year-old North Reading woman was summonsed for a false crime report.
• At 8:26 p.m., a caller reported an erratic driver on Central Street. The driver hit the curb and got a flat tire. 

Tuesday, June 19

• At 1:30 a.m., a caller reported kids in a car yelling on Olde Coach Road. The car was gone when police arrived.
• At 4:37 a.m., police assisted the on Larch Road with an intoxicated male. The male was passed out outside, and became combative when confronted by medical personnel. Police had to restrain the man so medical personnel could provide treatment. The Fire Department transported the male to the hospital.
• At 12:08 p.m., a caller reported that a car almost ran him off the road on Main Street. The car was gone when police arrived.
• At 8:36 p.m., a caller reported that a car almost ran her car off the road on Main Street. The vehicle was gone when police arrived.
