Obituary: Paul Schromm, 83, Formerly Of Reading
Paul lived in Reading for 34 years, where he coached youth sports and served as an usher at St. Athanasius.

READING, MA — The following obituary was submitted by the family of Paul Schromm.
Paul Schromm, formerly of Reading, MA, passed away with his loving family by his side on April 17, 2021 in Summerfield, FL at the age of 83.
Paul was born to William and Helen Schromm in Cambridge, MA and graduated from Belmont High School in 1955. He enjoyed summers in Green Harbor where he learned to sail. He attended Boston College before proudly serving three years in the US Army. He was later employed by AT&T for many years. Paul married Madonna Ryan, formerly of Belmont, MA in 1966; they were married for 54 years. The happy couple settled in Reading, MA in 1970, where they raised their family and lived for 34 years before retiring to Florida. Paul was a very active father, taking a close interest in his five children's schooling and activities, coaching many sports teams and also serving as an usher at St Athanasius in Reading.

Paul was the devoted father of Liesl (Schromm) Rinaldi of Interlachen, FL, Douglas Schromm and his wife Rebecca of Reading, MA, Jennifer Schromm of Manchester, NH and Stephanie Flaherty and her husband James of Pembroke, MA. He was predeceased by his daughter, Madonna J Schromm. Proud grandfather (Pepe) to Jacqueline Schromm of Houston, TX, Donna Rinaldi of Boerne, TX, Owen, William and Henry Schromm all of Reading, MA and Caitlin and Lauren Flaherty of Pembroke, MA.
Dear brother of William Schromm of Winchester, MA, John Schromm and wife Gladys of Wells, ME, Elaine Krant of Belmont, MA and Diane Marzettti and husband Larry of Alexandria, VA and predeceased by his sister Ann Arseneault. Paul was a much loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life mass will be held at St Athanasius, in Reading, MA on Monday, October 4th, 2021 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
