A Letter to the Editor from Leslie Leahy:

I am writing to express my support for Select Board candidate Carlo Bacci, who I have known both as a business owner & Reading resident.

As owner of The Hitching Post Gift Shop for the last 21 years, I agree with Marianne Downing’s assessment as outlined in her Letter to the Editor on March 26, 2019:

“In recent years, a perspective has been missing from the Select Board conversation: a voice representing the Reading business community, a voice with common sense fiscal responsibility that comes from having to keep a business concern going through good times and bad, a voice that not only claims to understand, but actually lives, the day to day challenges that our Reading business community faces. Carlo Bacci, with his decades of small business experience, both in and out of Reading, is the ideal voice to add that balance.”

Carlo Bacci understands the need to support our existing businesses as well as foster a climate that will attract new business to Reading.

As a Reading resident for over 33 years, I understand the value of a collaborative Select Board, where issues are discussed with civility, common sense, & respect. I believe Carlo Bacci’s unique business skill set, along with his common-sense attitude & community spirit will help our town continue to move toward positive economic growth.

Please consider joining me in casting your vote for Carlo Bacci on April 2nd.
