Reading Arrest Draws Major Law Enforcement Presence
Police said a law enforcement task force made an arrest on a warrant near downtown Reading on Tuesday morning.
READING, MA — An area near downtown Reading reopened on Tuesday after a heavy law enforcement presence, according to Reading Police.
Police initially asked community members to avoid a section of Green Street between Ash Street and High Street due to what it described as a “large police presence.”
Police said a law enforcement task force was a making an arrest for a wanted person.

Police updated their message around 8 a.m., saying the area had cleared and confirming that the suspect was in custody.
“There is no danger to the public,” police said.

Contacted on Tuesday, a Reading police spokesperson deferred questions regarding this incident to the State Police.
A State Police spokesperson later said there was no additional information immediately available on these events, saying details the incident would be forthcoming.
