READING, MA — The town of Reading and the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce have partnered to support local businesses by donating eight sets of bistro tables and placing them around town adjacent to restaurants. The aim is to foster outdoor meeting spots, the Chamber said.

Reading's Economic Development plan outlines supporting local businesses as an important goal. The town and Chamber collaborated to create The Bistro Table program to support local businesses while encouraging informal sidewalk dining options as part of the COVID-19 re-opening of the economy.

These tables are in front of Last Corner restaurant and Green Tomato near the train depot, and Fusion Café and Professor’s Market along Main Street.
