Catch Cornhole, Cars, Dunk Tanks, More At Reading Fall Faire On Sunday

The Fall Street Faire will take over portions of downtown Reading on Sunday for a busy day of festivities.

READING, MA — Reading’s Fall Street Faire will return this weekend with a full slate of attractions ranging from live entertainment, to an antique car show, to individual vendor and community group booths.

The faire is set for Sunday, Sept. 11 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., spanning multiple locations in and around downtown Reading. This year’s event will boast more than 100 vendors for guests to visit.

While serving as a day of community celebration, Sunday will also mark the 21st anniversary of the September 11th Attacks.

Reading will reflect before the start of the Fall Faire with an event at 11:45 a.m. at the faire’s Woburn Street Stage. Police Chief David Clark and Fire Chief Gregory Burns will lead a moment of silence as part of the ceremony.

  • ANTIQUE CAR SHOW: Fifty antique cars from various eras will be on display. The North Shore Old Car Club is helping supply cars for the event, with owners available to show off their cars. DJ Nick Lamberti will play 1950s, 1960s and 1970s hits as guests enjoy the show. The car show will take place in the municipal parking lot off Haven Street behind CVS and the Reading Cooperative Bank.
  • CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT: The Fall Faire will feature a cornhole tournament on Haven Street beginning at 2 p.m. Registration is available online in advance of the Fall Faire or in-person beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday before the beginning of the tournament. The top two finishing teams in the tournament will win cash prizes. The cost to enter is $60 per team.
  • KIDS PIE EATING CONTESTS: The Fall Faire will run a pair of pie eating contests split into two youth divisions. Kids ages seven through 10 will compete in one division, while kids ages 12 through 14 will compete separately. Interested contestants should meet at 3:45 p.m. at the Woburn Street Stage on Woburn Street across from the Venetian Moon restaurant. Contest winners will receive $100 in gift cards to destinations including Fat Larry’s, Cafe Nero, and Whitelam Books.
  • DUNK TANK: A long list of Reading leaders will face down the dunk tank skills of Fall Faire attendees at a charity dunk tank setup on Sunday. Guests can buy chances to try to trigger the dunk tank, or they can pay for an “auto dunk.”
  • INFLATABLE ZONES: There will be two sets of inflatable bounce houses, slides and other attractions set up at the Town Common and on Haven Street at Sunday’s Fall Faire.
  • LIVE MUSIC: The Fall Faire will showcase live music on three stages within the faire area. See a list of performers and stage locations here.
  • CHILDREN’S AREA: The Fall Faire will include a children’s area full of entertainment choices from pumpkin painting to jumbo tic tac toe in the Reading Cooperative Bank parking lot on Haven Street.

The Reading Rotary Club organizes the faire and will mark the event’s 14th running this year.
