Reading General Election Early Voting Now Underway

Reading will host early voting across roughly two weeks before next month's general election.

READING, MA — Early in-person voting in Reading began on Saturday as the town kicks off roughly two weeks of voting before next month’s state general election.

Early voting is taking place in the First Floor Conference Room of Reading Town Hall at 16 Lowell St.

  • Saturday, Oct. 22; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 24; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25; 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 26; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 27; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 28; 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 29; 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 31; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 1; 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 2; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Nov. 3; 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

There will be no in-person early voting on Sunday, Oct. 23 or Sunday, Oct. 30.

  • Oct. 29; Last day for voter registration
  • Nov. 1, 5 p.m.; Deadline to send a vote by mail application to receive a ballot in time for Election Day
  • Nov. 7, 7 p.m.; Deadline to request an absentee ballot in person
  • Nov. 8; Election Day

Election Day voting will run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Field House at Reading Memorial High School.

Voters in Reading in this year's election will settle a contested race in the 5th Middlesex State Senate district, where incumbent and Democrat Jason Lewis is running against Republican challenger Ed Dombroski.
