Reading Lions Club Hosting Friends And Family Day Next Month

The event will feature games, giveaways, entertainment, food and crafts and info booths set up by local organizations and businesses.

READING, MA —The Reading Lions Club has announced details of the upcoming 18th Reading Friends and Family Day.

The free event, also called Town Day, is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 10 at the Birch Meadow Fields area. There will be games, giveaways, entertainment, food and crafts. Plus, over 50 local organizations, businesses and town departments will have information booths.

At 9 p.m., the celebration will continue with fireworks, also at the Birch Meadow Fields area, which are sponsored by the Friends of Reading Recreation.

"Nothing says summer like enjoying a day of fun activities with your neighbors, friends and family," a representative of the Reading Lions Club said in a statement. "So come on down for family fun, and you might also learn something new or find a place to volunteer."

Among the free activities scheduled for Friends and Family Day are: mini golf, remote control race cars, a photo booth and cornhole. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a petting zoo.
