Reading Main Street Restaurant To Close This Summer

READING, MA — Drew's Stews and More will close in the next month. The Main Street eatery opened three years ago.

"It breaks our heart to take this step, but continued high costs and sleepy sales mean we're forced to wind down operations in the next month or so," a post on the restaurant's Facebook page reads. "We're so grateful to everyone who has supported us over the course of the past three years—at the farmers' markets, in our hometown of Lexington, our adopted town of Reading, and through our weekly delivery service all over Greater Boston."

The post goes on to say that there will be "more to come about the future of our awesome kitchen here in Reading."

The post had received 136 reactions and 53 comments as of Thursday morning.

"It’s very sad to hear," one user wrote. "The time, ingredients and love and pride you put into your soups will likely never be rivaled."

Drew's Stews and More is offering a 15 percent discount on remaining frozen inventory until it's gone.
