Reading Mom and Daughter Featured in New 'Got Milk?' Ad
Aditi and Vandana Jhota of Reading will appear in a "got milk?" ad.
Reading residents Aditi and Vandana Jhota won a “got milk?” contest and will be featured in a national ad, milk mustache and all.
The Jhotas sent a video entry to the "Like Her, Like Me" contest started by actress Nina Dobrev, her mother Michaela, the National Milk Mustache “got milk?” Campaign and Seventeen magazine. The program focuses on teens and their moms, and how they influence each other.
"I found out about the contest online, and thought why not? When I told my mom about it, she agreed to it and we made a video entry right away," Aditi said.

The Jhotas' video was chosen, along with two others, out of 100 videos.
"We couldn't believe it. We never thought our video would even be considered because we didn't even rehearse what we were going to say. When we found out that we were one of the finalists, we were ecstatic," Aditi told Patch.

Vandana was shocked as well.
"I did not believe our video would make it that far and that we would even be considered, so when it was, I was shocked. We were treated like celebrities and I'm so happy I was able to bond with my daughter the entire time," Vandana said.
Their video emphasized how milk is integrated into their lives. Both mother and daughter value health, exercising and the importance of drinking milk before and after workouts.
"My mom and I go to fitness classes together, such as tone and sculpt and Zumba(r), so we both know the importance of fueling our bodies properly so we can get in shape," Aditi explained.
All three winning teams won a trip to New York City to shoot the national Milk Mustache ad. Both Vandana and Aditi enjoyed the trip to the Big Apple, saying it was "a surreal experience." Pick up the December/January issue of Seventeen magazine to check it out.
