Reading Names Next Principal Of Joseph Eaton School

READING, MA — The Reading Public Schools has appointed Caitlin Shelburne the next principal of Joshua Eaton Elementary School.

Shelburne, the principal and senior director of Curriculum and Instruction at Making Waves Academy in Richmond, CA, will assume the role July 1.

She holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Vermont and a master of arts from the University of California at Berkeley. Her elementary background includes teaching fifth grade in the Lawrence Public Schools and instructing ESL students in third, fourth and fifth grade.

Shelburne received the Timothy Shiner Ally Award from the University of Vermont in 2012 and the Sontag Prize in Urban Education for Teaching Excellence from 2013-2016.
