Reading Narrows Search For Next Town Manager

The Select Board will interview three finalists for the position at its meeting on Tuesday.

READING, MA — The Select Board will interview three finalists for town manager at its meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 8.

The finalists are Patrice Garvin, Fidel Maltez and Jennifer Phillips, according to the Select Board agenda.

Garvin, Belmont's town administrator, is the first woman in the history of the town to hold the position, Wicked Local reported. She previously served as town administrator in Shirley for five years.

Garvin will be interviewed at 5 p.m.

Maltez, public works commissioner in Chelsea, will be interviewed at 6 p.m. He previously served as the city's assistant commissioner before heading the public works department.

Phillips is the former city manager of Bothell, WA. Prior to that, she was the city manager in Helena, CA for four years, the Reading Post reported.

She will be interviewed at 7 p.m.
