Reading Police Warn Of Poison After Dog Deaths
Police said two dogs that got loose from their home appeared to have ingested Strychnine or a similar poison.
READING, MA — Reading police are investigating the death of two dogs that got loose from their home on New Year's Eve.
Police believe the dogs died from ingesting Strychnine or a similar poison.
"Strychnine is highly toxic and kills domestic animals as well as local wildlife accidentally and indiscriminately," police said in a statement.

The Reading Police Department, Health Department and Animal Control officers are investigating. Residents are warned to keep their pets under close watch and monitor what they are getting into.
