Reading Resident Arrested for Operating Under the Influence After Accident

The following is an excerpt from the  log from Friday through Monday. The information is open to the public.

Arrests

At 1:19 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Franklin Street. The driver of the vehicle drove into a rock wall and damaged the lawn of a house on Franklin Street. The driver, Nicholas Demarco, 22, of 170 Green St., Reading was arrested for operating under the influence, speeding and operating a motor vehicle to endanger.

Friday, April 27

  • At 3:51 p.m., a Winthrop Avenue resident reported that someone is trying to rent out her house in Laconia, N.H., on Craisglist.
  • At 4:21 p.m., a caller reported a needle on Main Street. Police disposed of the needle.
  • At 4:36 p.m., a caller reported that a customer was harrassing customers for money at on Main Street.

  • At 1:00 a.m., a caller reported barrels in the road on Pearl Street. Police moved the barrels.
  • At 2:27 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Lowell Street. No injuries were reported.
  • At 8:53 p.m., a caller reported youths jumping out at cars on High Street. Police were unable to locate the youths.
  • At 11:46 p.m., an officer observed three youths gathering near California Road. One threw a spray paint can. Police found one youth, but were unable to locate the youth who threw the paint can. There was no new graffiti in the area.

Sunday, April 29

  • At 11:46 a.m., a caller reported graffiti on the hot top and cement at the .
  • At 11:47 a.m., a caller reported a car accident on Salem Street. No injuries were reported.

Monday, April 30

  • At 9:17 a.m., a resident walked into the police station and reported that his son was being bullied at school.
  • At 1:47 p.m., an officer found and disposed of a needle on Forest Street.
  • At 4:52 p.m., a caller reported a car accident on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
