Reading Robotics Students To Compete In World Championships

A team comprised of students at a Reading coding and robotics school won a state competition and will now compete on a larger stage.

READING, MA — A Reading robotics team will head to the world championship in April. The team, called the Oceanic Otters, won a state-level competition in which they had to build robots using Legos, according to WHDH News-7.

The team beat out over 490 others from across the state competing for the title.

"And now, the journey continues… we’re headed to the FLL WORLDS in April 2025!" Code Wiz Reading shared on social media. "A fun fact: only 0.5% of FLL teams qualify for the FIRST Championship, making this an extraordinary achievement!

The Oceanic Otters includes STEM students in 3rd to 5th grade who are studying at Code Wiz, a coding and robotics school in Reading, WHDH News-7 reported.

The 2025 First Championship will be held in Houston on April 16 to 19.
