Reading's Swissbakers Closes All Shops

The group, founded in Reading 13 years ago, had locations in Reading, Cambridge and Boston.

READING, MA — A group of bakeries founded over a decade ago in Reading has shut down all of its locations. Swissbakers announced its closure on Facebook, writing:

"To the best guests in the world. It’s with a heavy heart that we must inform you that we have to close our doors. We want to thank you for letting us help start your morning the Swiss way for the last 13 years, it has been an honor."

Swissbakers told Boston Restaurant Talk the closure will impact all locations. The group had shops in North Station, Harvard Square, Allston and Reading. Its bakery at the Boston Public Market closed in October.

The bakery served Swiss-influenced baked goods, as well as sandwiches, soups and salads.
