Reading's Whitelam Books Hosting Independent Bookstore Day Event
The event will feature special items for sale, giveaways, treats and several author visits. Find out when this is taking place.

READING, MA — Whitelam Books in Reading will be celebrating Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday with special items for sale, giveaways, treats and several author visits.
The event will take place during store hours, which are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Whitelam Books, located at 610 Main St.
This is the 10th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day, a national event that was established by the American Booksellers Association to promote, celebrate and highlight the value of the independent bookstore in the community. Over 900 stores across the country are scheduled to participate in the event this year, according to organizers.

"Independent Bookstore Day is one of our favorite days. It both celebrates the bookseller and the book buyer. We are so excited to participate every year," said Liz Whitelam, owner of Whitelam Books.
On Saturday, Whitelam Books will feature exclusive items for sale, like: specialized tote bags, puzzles and books published just for Independent Bookstore Day, according to store management.

There also will be treats and a free publisher tote bag for every purchase of $50 or more, while supplies last.
Whitelam also has announced a partnership with Libro.fm, which will provide a free audiobook when customers sign up for their audiobook subscription service. Plus, there will be discounts on several audiobooks for current subscribers.
Additionally, a Libro.fm golden ticket will be hidden somewhere inside Whitelam Books on Saturday, and the finder will receive 12 free audiobooks.
All day, authors will be on hand to present and sign their books. The authors scheduled to appear at Whitelam on Saturday are:
- 10:30 a.m. — Joseph Rukeyser, author of "The Pompitous of Love"
- 11:30 a.m. — Amal Grammas, author of "I Know You Are In There Somewhere"
- 12:30 p.m. — Ryan Standley, author of "To the Top of Greenfield Street"
- 1:30 p.m. — AR Dugan, author of "Call/Response and Wanted: Comedy, Addicts"
- 2:30 p.m. — Andrew Hahn, co-author of "The One Hour Miracle: A 5-Step Process to Guide Your Self-Healing"
- 4 p.m. — Heather Lang and Jamie Harper, author and illustrator of "Supermoms"
