Reading's Whitelam Books Presenting Author Visits Throughout March

Whitelam will be hosting two non-fiction writers, a historical fiction author, a fantasy writer and an author of graphic novels this month.

READING, MA — Whitelam Books in Reading will be hosting events for all ages in March, including welcoming two non-fiction writers, a historical fiction author, a fantasy writer and an author of graphic novels.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Whitelam Books is inviting customers to stop in during the Winterfest celebration. At that time, visitors can reach into the Pot of Gold to see if they get 10, 20 or 30 percent off their purchase.

  • 5 p.m. on March 18: The store will host a book launch with author Dorian Hart for his book "The Adversary's Hand." It's the fifth and final book of Hart's Heroes of Spira series.
  • 7 p.m. on March 18: Author Christopher C. Gorham will talk about his new book "The Confidante: The Untold Story of the Woman Who Helped Win WWII and Shape Modern America." The book is a biography of Anna Rosenberg, who worked as an unofficial "advisor" to FDR and later the assistant secretary of defense.
  • 5 p.m. on March 25: The store will host a launch party for author Scott Magoon's book "The Extincts: Flight of the Mammoth." The book is the highly-anticipated sequel to the kids graphic novel "The Extincts: Quest for the Unicorn Horn."
  • 7 p.m. on March 29: Author Jane Healey will be at the store to discuss her novel "Goodnight from Paris." The book is an inspiring tale, based on a true story, of a Hollywood actress in Nazi-occupied France.
  • 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on March 31: Whitelam will host a Dog Man 11 Release Party. The newest installment of the popular Dog Man series "Dog Man: Twenty Thousand Fleas Under the Sea," comes out on March 28. This afternoon event features fun, silliness, Dog Man trivia, games and more.
