Resident Meets Woman He Saved After Marathon Bombings

Shores Salter met Roseann Sdoia for the first time after the bombings on Saturday.

Reading resident Shores Salter acted quickly after the marathon bombings and saved Roseann Sdoia's life. Salter was able to meet Sdoia Saturday at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, according to an article on wcvb.com.

This past Saturday was the first time the two had seen each other since Marathon Monday, when Salter used his belt to create a tourniquet to stop Sdoia from bleeding.

Sdoia wanted to know who saved her and in an effort to identify Salter, his photo was posted on wcvb.com. His high school friends saw his photo and texted him right away. Soon after, the pair arranged to meet this past Saturday at Spaulding Rehab.

The first thing Salter did when he saw Sdoia at the hospital was give her a big bear hug, wcvb.com said.

"It's just nice -- a little peace of mind to see how well she's doing. To see her spirits -- it's honestly amazing," Salter said in the article.
